The Lodge

The Lodge is self contained with a double bedroom, shower room and living room with a kitchenette. We leave a continental style breakfast for you to enjoy. Juliet loves baking cakes so often there is a little something to welcome you!. Your dog is very welcome to come and stay too.
The Lodge overlooks the beautiful RSPB nature reserve at Brading Marshes. The Marshes are popular for cyclists, walkers, horseriding, photographers, bird watchers and wildlife enthusiasts. You are welcome to use the private hide in the garden to watch the wildlife and birds living on the Marshes. or you can take a walk along the footpaths across the marsh.
We hope you enjoy not only the peace and quiet but the beautiful views from their garden. This year in the garden we have spotted a wren, robin, greated spotted woodpecker, green woodpecker, kestrel, pheasant, marsh harrier, long tailed tits, blue tits, great tits, goldfinches, house martins, swallows, magpies, buzzard, red squirrel and a rabbit! The red squirrels are regular visitors to the garden and if you are quiet they will even race along the veranda of the Lodge.
From the hide we have seen a great white egret, swans, rabbits, fox cubs playing, sandpipers, bitterns, ducks, herons and the sea eagles! In the Spring, you can regularly hear the bitterns booming across the marsh.
sea eagles introduced to the Isle of Wight can been seen regularly from the garden either perched on their favourite tree or soaring above the marshes.

George and Juliet own The Lodge on the Marsh at Brading on the Isle of Wight. We live in the house on the marsh which is in the grounds with our golden retriever. We own the ice cream shop in Seaview. Juliet also looks after a number of holiday homes too.
We have lived on the island for over 10 years and have spent many happy holidays here. We love the island and we hope you do too.
